PATRICK WAYNE FRANCOIS

1947 – 2026

Patrick Wayne Francois, age 78, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026.

Patrick was born in San Antonio, Texas. As a young boy, he lived in many parts of the world, including London, England; France; Portugal; Japan; and the United States. He attended high school in Brea, California and decided that he did not want to move anymore. He lived and worked for 35 years in Orange County, California.

Patrick had a love for teaching. He taught at Santiago Canyon College and California State University, Fullerton, where he inspired and mentored many students throughout his career.

Music was Patrick’s first passion. He wrote songs, produced CDs, and shared his gift of music by singing in the choir at his college and his church. He loved sharing his music with others.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Francois; his daughter, Nichole Francois VerBurg; his son-in-law, Brian VerBurg; and his two grandsons, Micah VerBurg and Asher VerBurg.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Dana Point, California, on March 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

Patrick will be remembered for his warm smile and unfailing cheerfulness, qualities that touched everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.
